How do I care for sheepskin slipper?
We advise not to wash sheepskin slippers for as long as possible. After all, wool is self-cleaning. Air them regularly. If you do need to wash them, wash them by hand using a mild liquid wool detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
Dry the slippers at room temperature, but certainly not in a dryer, on a heater or stove and avoid direct sunlight. To keep the slippers in good shape, you can stuff them with paper, which can be done with newspaper or kitchen paper.
After drying you can brush them with a suede brush, which you can also order from us.
Sheepskin slippers with a print cannot be washed!
However, it may happen that not all stains are removed. In that case you can treat the stains gently with the Collonil suede nubuck block, by gently rubbing the stain. The nubuck block has one side for mild gentle cleaning and one side for thorough cleaning. This nubuck block can be ordered from us.
Wash sheepskin with a washing machine?
Some manufacturers say that the sheepskin slippers can be washed in a washing machine on a wool wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a wool detergent.
In any case, we advise not to do that. Especially slippers with a lush fur trim often do not come out of the washing machine very nicely and you have a greater chance that the wool will start to felt.
